i was thinking of building a 7age(7afe bottom end, 4age top end) with a turbo for my rwd corolla but read and heard the 7a bottom end is weak, especially flywheel bolts and the mains are only good to 7500? anyone know different cos it seems like a cheap way to make decent power.hi Jabran, thanks for the info,The turbo outlet flange was ponting down hitting the engine mounting, wastegate hitting the gearbox, turbo exhaust
I bought the kit from TURBOKITS.COM in the U.S.A including electronics, intercooler, and because the kit is not "bol-on",my local Toyota dealer here in Portugal couldnt and didnt have the facilities to do the installation.I am having it fitted at a specialist place"Powers1"(apparentely they have been working with ALLARD Turbosport in Wales for a no.of years and they are probably the only company here that are capable of carrying out the work on my car as they have done these sort of mods on German and French cars before and with great success.Anyway, they have changed a lot of things that were wrong with the kit and have taken step by step work photos.I am going to get everything together that has been done by now and will E-mail tomorrow with photos.Sorry, not clear!!!Do you have a turbokit installed in a Celica 7a-fe?????In 1993, the 4A-FE was given better intake efficiency through use of upright, small-diameter intake ports in the cylinder head, increased valve lift and intake valve diameter; a rotary solenoid type idle air control valve; and a large aluminum stiffener and vanadium-steel crankshaft to reduce noise and vibration. well i have an idea, why not have a spacer made for the flange at about a 45 degree anlge to it is facing the radiator and not directly down.fir a long time now.As far I know, the fact that no one advertises this turbo kit for the celica(only corolla but same engine),I was expecting Save toyota celica 7a-fe to get e-mail alerts and updates on your eBay Feed. Unfollow toyota celica 7a-fe to stop getting updates on your eBay feed. You'll receive email and Feed alerts when new items arrive

Toyota A engine. Quite the same Wikipedia. Just better. In South Africa in 1993 the 4A-GE engine was dropped and replaced with the 7A-FE even as other countries moved towards the 20 valve 4A-GE, as South African fuel was not suitable at the time for the 4A-GE 20valve Apparently,it seems that it is Turbo SPECIALTIES who make the turbo kits and all the accessories but I cant somehow get them on the Net????Lot of people sellingWhen the 7A-FE was designed, it was given the same improvements as the 4A-FE, as well as a knock sensor. Both engines shared a pentroof type combusion chamber, with cross-flow manifolds.
Switching to a rotary solenoid-type idle control valve meant that the idle-speed adjusting screw could be eliminated. In addition, a brace between the head and throttle body was added to reduce vibration. The intake air chamber and intake manifold could now be separated to provide easier access to injectors; an equal-length intake manifold was used to reduce intake air noise; and metal gaskets were used for the intake manifold and intake air chamber gaskets to improve seal performance. The A Series engines are a family of inline-four internal combustion engines with displacement from 1.3 L to 1.8 L produced by Toyota Motor Corporation. The series has cast iron engine blocks and aluminum cylinder heads. To make the engine as short as possible, the cylinders are siamesed Toyota. 2GR-FE. U660E. Altezza/altezza gita The 4A-FE, by 1993, was producing 105 hp @ 5,800 rpm (75 kW) and 100 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm (136 Nm). In California trim, it produced 100 hp (86 kW). It was a compact DOHC engine for good economy and good driving characteristics. The 7A-FE boasted an extra 10 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque, engaging at a lower rpm (110 hp in California); in metric terms, it pushed out 82 kW and 156 Nm.
The cooling system reached the bottom of the intake port first to reduce intake air temperature, improving knock resistance and efficiency. There was originally a cold-start injector in the 4A-FE, but this was eliminated in 1993. At the same time, one of the five original engine mounts in the Corolla was dropped, leaving four; but the right-side engine mount were revised, to a cylindrical, shaft-type liquid-filled compound type to reduce vibration and noise.
Along with the revamping of the intake system, the two resonators in the air cleaner hose were cut to one. Toyota 4A-F and 7A-FE engines: details and photos. The 4A engine series was a 1587 cc (1.6 liter) engine, introduced in 1988, and When the 7A-FE was designed, it was given the same improvements as the 4A-FE, as well as a knock sensor. Both engines shared a pentroof type combusion chamber.. After searching around for a specific bolt-on turbo kit for may 7A-FE Celicaand not finding one,I decided to order a turbo kit from Turbo specialists in the USAfor the Corolla with the same engine as my car(7A-FE).I am now installing the kit and there are some issues that Toyota Model: celeca 7A-fe
Toyota released a single 7A-FE modification of the engine with the capacity from 105 hp to 120 hp. However, the 7A-FE Lean Burn engine, the least powerful one, turned out to be rather problematic and its servicing is rather expensive. oil filter installed and we shaved off 5mm off the exhaust where it bolts on to the middle of the turbo(the core).I am able to alter the position of the turbo inlet by rotating it and positioning the w/g in another position, but I am still wandering if on a Corolla the Turbo would fit? Jump to navigation Jump to search Question about 1996 Toyota Carina. 1 Answer. 1997 model with 7A FE engine, four cylinder, engine suddenly stopped on the road without prior fault. fuel line okay, nozzles, plugs, etc okay. the engine kicks and stops. what can i do? the injector has been cleaned, ignition checked, yet the engine wont work Had a look at some engine photos of the 7A-FE engine in the Corolla but hard to see if gearbox is the same!!
In previous engines, engine coolant from the radiator flowed to the cylinder block first, then to the cylinder head, but the new engine adopts a cooling system in which the intake side is cooled first. After the engine coolant cools the intake ports of the cylinder head, it then cools the cylinder block and cylinder head. By using this cooling sequence, the intake air temperature is reduced and knocking resistance and volumetric efficiency are improved. The 4A engine series was a 1587 cc (1.6 liter) engine, introduced in 1988, and revised to 4A-FE in 1993; it was mainly used in the Corolla, and was replaced by the ZZ series in the 1998s. The 7A engine series was essentially the same engine, stroked for higher displacement (1.8 liters) and better torque. . Hide thumbs. Also See for 4A-FE. for the Corolla with the same engine as my car(7A-FE).I am now installing the kit and there are some issues that maybe somenone out there can help me with.I have e-mailed Turbokits.com with all my queries and they replied saying that they have put my case forward to Turbo Specialties and will get back to me.. The intake diameter was increased from 30.0 to 31.0 mm, the exhaust kept the same size at 24.5 mm, and the lift increased from 6.6 to 7.6 (both intake and exhaust).
some problems with the installation but since I have been carrying out similar mods on cars for the last 15 years,I am sure I can fit it!!My aim also is to show that it can be done and be reliable.I would apprerciate if someone coull answer the question I put on my first post...Thanks How can I post pictures?????In addition to a knock sensor, the 7A-FE had a torque management feature which cut torque while the automatic transmission shifted to minimize harshness. At the moment I cannot fit the turbo because the wastegate valve hits the top of the gearbox!! I was wondering if the CElica and Corolla have different gearboxes?? About product and suppliers: 164 toyota 7a fe products are offered for sale by suppliers on Alibaba.com. The fuel injection system was changed from a somewhat inefficient all-firing-at-once system to a more modern two-at-a-time system, now just one step away from sequential injection. Timing was changed so that the intake closed at 38° ABDC instead of 34°, exhaust opened at 42° instead of 37°, and exhaust closed at 2° ATDC instead of 3°. Intake valve opening remained at 6° BTDC as it had been in 1992. The Toyota 2TR-FE is a 2.7 L (2,693 cc, 164.34 cu·in) straight-four 4-stroke natural aspirated gasoline engine from Toyota TR-family. The 2TR-FE engine was manufactured in Kamigo Plant and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia A plastic region-tightening method was used for cylinder head bolts to eliminate the need for periodical inspection of bolts. Unique to the 7A-FE were two-layer metal head gaskets, and a two-piece oil pan (one piece of aluminum alloy, the other of steel; the upper pan was secured to the cylinder block and transaxle housing). The crankshaft and connecting rod specifications were modified to match the longer piston stroke and higher power output of the 7A-FE engine, and the pistons were made more rigid by modifying the oil return from the slits to 8 holes.
